“The only Place that ever left me was feeling empty and full
at the same time”.
It’s a children’s day and we thought of doing something for
ourselves and for our soul.
I was working in a Hyderabad as a software consultant and was living in Ameerpeth with my Nine Maharastrian Girls friends gang. We had decided to visit an Orphanage
after some Googling I found one and that was “Shishu Vihar”.
We had called the Management and requested that we will
visit just for half n hr and let us know if we can bring something for the children,
they said we cannot bring outside food or anything else, so finally we had
decided to buy box of cookies for each child and the number of children was
110.
We had bought the box of cookies and drive to the way to
Shishu Vihar, outside the orphanage i saw the baby swing and it says the
whole story.
As soon as we entered the orphanage the manager greeted us and
told us to wait in a hall till then children will come, won’t believe they were
so disciplined they came in line one by one greeted us and took their box of cookies and went to their Activity room in a queue maintained.
We found very caring staff –members in shishu vihar there
are almost 20 staff members and one of them was Marathi from Nagpur, she heard
me talking in Marathi and came to me and told that yesterday only 2 days infant
someone kept in a baby swing hanging outside the door of orphanage now I got
the meaning of keeping an empty swing outside the doors of orphanage.
A pic with a kind lady
All the children are from age 2 days to 13 Years, Most of them of less than six months old, were said to be in a good health and caring hands, all of them have been taken care, examined, disciplined and educated Shishu Vihar.
After playing with children and spending some time with them we left the place with tears in our eyes and thoughts on our mind.
While leaving the place
everyone was so quiet and probably thinking of the lives we are living and we
are questioning our mom dad on those small little things and I was thinking
about these people whom they are going to question on the life they got ?
It’s been 3 Years for this
incident and I am still wondering why and how that mother left her 2 days baby
infront of orphanage ? if she couldn’t afford one more life why she would have
given the birth to that baby or it was a reason that baby infant was a girl ?
what was it ?
